It was a winding road, but now it's here: the new SOCIUS website!

It is more than just a showcase of what we do: it is a manifesto of our approach, an open media library with hundreds of specialist articles, videos and podcasts, a shop with books and creative tools for OE, a calendar of our current training courses and events, and a lively portal for the SOCIUS community and its history.

It's a good idea to re-evaluate your own body in this way every now and then – and if a new phase in our lives really does begin every seven years, then this is almost the right time for it: our last relaunch was in 2017.

It is perhaps obvious why website projects usually take much longer and cause more grey hairs than planned: it is the deep roots and fine branches that we tend to underestimate. Anyone who wants to make an appearance must first have a clear idea of what they want to stand for. If your self-image has changed, new positioning must be agreed upon. If the world has changed, new references are needed. But the ramifications of implementation are also not insignificant: how do I teach the DeepL plug-in that leadership as leadership and not as guidance How do we map self-selected prices in conventional payment systems? How do we obtain the licence for the artwork on the home page? In the end, the devil is in the details. And as clear as our fundamentally agile sympathy is in the area of tension between Cathedral & Bazaar It is difficult to celebrate an opening when the new premises have not yet been swept. But dynamic things are never finished, as we know: and this thing is now very good enough!
