Small experiments

Dear readers,

The book is on my bedside table. „Tiny Experiments“. It invites me to abandon grand ambitions and instead build small experimental setups that illuminate the way forward step by step. Not a completely new idea, but still good advice.
The tension between long-term orientation and immediate action is always a challenge: too much determination can make us rigid, but without any direction at all, we lose our way. So perhaps it's about „Tiny Intentional Experiments“ – small, conscious steps with meaning.

SOCIUS has never been known for grand master plans. Rather, it has been known for doing, sharing and developing. And yet we too are feeling the tectonic shifts in our field. The need for support in times of crisis and transformation is growing – at the same time, resources are coming under pressure, even in areas where development and sustainability are concerned.

Our initial strategic responses to this balancing act: we are establishing new networks that expand our scope and field of vision for OE promotion; we are developing services such as interim support for vacant key positions; we are building lean processes that strengthen internal development roles. We are seeking out new opportunities and conducting small-scale experiments. And last but not least, we are committed to continuous joint learning.

In our upcoming SOCIUS Labs, we will focus on the power of collective creativity, diversity-oriented OE and inclusive communication. For those interested in diving deeper, the second part of our training series will take place in July. Self:organisation:development be exciting. At the upcoming oe-tag in Halle Finally, we invite you to explore the traces of East-West history and stories in our organisations.

We look forward to encounters, discussions and joint research – on both a small and large scale.
